Documentary short
Searching for a past
In 1946, the grandmother of photographer Anaïs López left her two small children behind and fled to South America with her Nazi lover. Or so the story goes. In order to gain control over her past, Anaïs conducts obsessive research into her family history. However, the deeper she delves, the more she loses her grip on the situation. The question arises: why does she even want a definitive story about her past?
The documentary film "Bloedband" was produced with the support of the CoBO Fund as part of the Teledoc Campus program.
Anaïs Lopez (1981) is a photographer by trade, but has become so much more than that. She is a natural-born storyteller and does so in almost any medium. Her ultra-intermedia project The Migrant includes a web documentary, graphic novel, live performance, radio documentary and an exhibition that traveled around the world. The project was highly praised and won multiple awards. With her new film, Bloedband, she once again tells a unique story in her own way, this time examining her own past.
